I'll be up all night, whole crews in here

one word Buffalo, FRICTION.

The gentlemen of the #QueenCityCartel are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of their FRICTION monthly this Friday at DBGB's (formerly Staples) in Allen Town.

The main goal of the QCC through Friction is to bring together DJs from Western/Upstate new York and unify each scene by throwing raging parties and squashing drama. This has opened the doors for networking and the windows to long lasting friendships. Its been a crazy year and I've been thankful to be featured on multiple Friday nights. I'm sure this Friction will NOT disappoint so make sure you get down there!

The tri-force that is the QCC will be celebrating early with an OPEN-BAR from 10pm-11pm so get in where you fit in and have a round on them!

Selectors on the night include: MEDISON, BIACCO, myself, and TWIST. Come join in on the photobooth madness and shake a leg as Buffalo's elite come together and melt some faces!

The bass will be bumping with or without you, so make your next move your best move. holla.

PS! Peep my show the Guestlist tonight on 91.3FM or on wbny.org

new beginnings II

HOLA! I'm back and taking control and getting shit on track, the way it should be (ya kno!?). That means more music, more events, more gear, and more takeover. Inspired by my good friend and WRECKSHIT comrade, Nick Shippens, I'm picking up the slack.

The previous post features promo shots of myself at the Mass Appeal fashion show in Buffalo. I was a part of the opening t-shirt/outerwear sequence of the show that was modeled into an homage to the film, 'The Warrior's.'

There about 5-6 local designers that showed their lines with squads made up of about 4-5 models. This was my first show ever and I was fortunate to be grouped together with fellow DJs and Buffalo socialites MaltDisney, DJ Bones (aka Slam Turner), and DJ Medison (thanks to our good friend LuLu).

Our group was named after the 'Orphans' gang and was sponsored by locals Dazzle Me Formal.

I'd say that we were the life of the show, but I can't hate on my other peoples that were also contributing their bodies. By the end of the show I felt like a new person; ready to begin my career as a regular guy being paid to wear clothes that look like stuff I already own (lol).

We continued our episode of what happens when drunk hipsters have friends in the local fashion scene by heading down to Soundlab for the official Mass Appeal afterparty hosted by fashionista DJ duo Shock & Awe.

I don't remember much about the end of the night, OK, well I do, but to make a long story short: Medison and I got into some shenanigans and capped our night off by hitting the diner that ended with Medison scouring the streets of Allen Town in a drunken pursuit of an ATM that finaled with him detouring back home to the Pearl where he then passed out.

And that was my weekend.

Friction Fridays: Febuary 12th, STAPLES

the QCC are set to host the second installment of their monthly Friday night party at Staples on Allen street in the city of Buffalo, Febuary 12th. I believe that the fine gentlemen of the QCC have appropriately planned to make this party their 'anti-valentines' jam in spite of the holiday that follows two days later. Turntable contortionists on the night include drum and bass head turned house lover Skydiver, Bones, Team Radio correspondent Biacco, and absurdly amazing Ableton wiz, NSFW. this one is sure to be a banger and like the first party this one will be COMPLETELY FREE, so make your next move your best move and head down to Staples on Allen for Friction.

also, this week don't forget to check out Big Gigantic at the SOUNDLAB for whats anticipated to be an amazing live show featuring local favorites Basha and Arehouse (recently signed to Crossroads Records) both hailing from the Frosty Tone camp. MNMPRESENTS is only beginning to tally up how many big shows they're bringing to Buffalo, and this will definitely be one NOT to miss!

and I'll be at the Boulevard Mall on Jan. 27 at Hot Topic doing a short dubstep set as a part of their 'Local Static' campaign so be sure to check that out if you're in the area ;)

i've got some big stuff in the works with the QCC and our boys at westoletheshow, so stayed tuned for more info!

WHADAFUNK:ONTHEGRIND

the fam over at whadafunk have just put out their latest crewneck, fitting for this abnormal weather we've been having as of late. cheekily sporting "ONTHEGRIND24HRS" on the chest of the crewneck, the whadafunk family want everyone to know that they're on their military. its grind season and if you forgot why, check the right sleeve to remember who's keeping you looking so official all you'll need is a whistle, the whadafunk crew.

shouts to my man john g. and to ali for the photo ;)

The Commies are coming!

Its officially going down Buffalo! The Commies, Sir Rector and Flava Braun, are going to take me against my will to the Soundlab dungeon this Friday (January 15th, 2010) and force me to play for their electro-house loving comrades! It will be a difficult feat to win the hearts of their sweaty followers, but I'm sure I have enough propaganda to hold them over! Other DJ-OW's include Mark Kloud. Visiting hours start at 10pm and there will be a $5 cover at the door, with all proceeds going to Mother Russia of course ;) The Commies are looking to recruit'em young so this event is 18+, and all of Buffalo is encouraged to join their dance revolution!

VIVA LA MUSICA DE ELECTRONICA!

I want to also thank everyone who made it out to FRICTION last Friday at Staples in Allen Town! I had an amazing time with some amazing people! Shout out to my boy CHAPS who made it out for his 24th! And Medison, Bones, and Dopestar for shutting shit down! More love goes out to the photographers who created instant memories and to YOU Buffalo for proving that even in the bitterness you're still anxious to shake a leg! THANK YOU! Finally, I'd like to extend my gratitude to the gentlemen of the Queen City Cartel, for making the event possible and making me a part of it! I really appreciate the love, and I can't wait to make it happen again!

Photos soon come! Until then get ready for FRIDAY w/ the COMMIES & MARK KLOUD! Also I may have the Commies take over my radio show this week so watch this space for more details! Medison's 'Marioparty: Takeover' set will be up REALLY SOON!
